RAWSnap is a small, focused tool for one job: turning camera RAW files (Sony ARW, Canon CR2/CR3, Nikon NEF, Adobe DNG, Fujifilm RAF, Olympus ORF, Panasonic RW2 and more) into clean, shareable JPGs. It also gives you the essentials of a photo editor along the way — presets and Lightroom-style adjustments — so the JPG you save actually looks finished.
RAWSnap is for photographers who shoot RAW on purpose — for the quality and the freedom to fix things later — but who don't want the baggage that usually comes with it. You don't want to pay a monthly subscription just to open your own files. You don't want to learn a complicated editor when all you need is a quick adjustment. Most online RAW converters upload your photos to a server, make you wait in a queue, watermark the result, or push you toward a subscription. That felt wrong for something as simple and as personal as developing your own photos. We wanted a converter that respects your files: fast, free, and private. So we built RAWSnap to do all the work on your own device — a preset and a few sliders to get the look right, then export and go.
RAWSnap uses LibRaw, a mature open-source RAW decoding library, compiled to WebAssembly so it runs at near-native speed inside your browser. When you open a file, the sensor data is decoded locally, your camera's white balance is applied, and a full-color preview is rendered — all on your machine. When you export, the image is developed at full resolution and encoded as a high-quality JPG. At no point is your photo sent anywhere.
RAWSnap is supported by unobtrusive advertising. That lets us keep the tool completely free while covering hosting costs. It does not change how your files are handled — image processing always happens locally in your browser.
